Mayor gives interview with California CEO magazine

Mayor Gibbs recently spoke about the new Carmax facility located off Interstate 15, in an interview with California CEO publisher, Dwight Cromie. The Mayor and Cromie talked plans for future developoment and discussed how Carmax is bringing prosperity to the community.

Carmax’s 40-acre facility includes automobile reconditioning, auction house, paint shop, photo shop, and retail. In their weekly auctions, the employees at Carmax sell on average one car every four seconds.

"[Carmax is] Outperforming their wildest expectations" Gibbs said.

Of the 300 positions on-site, Carmax hired Murrieta residents to work 80-90% percent of the jobs. The Mayor concluded the interview by saying he hopes to bring more projects like Carmax to Murrieta. "The vision is to live, work, and play all in the same community," Gibbs said.

Cromie added,  "[Murrieta is] ripe with a wide variety of opportunities,".
