Why doesn't the City enforce no parking on street sweeping days?

Creating a parking enforcement program is an extremely costly process. There would be a requirement to purchase, install and maintain hundreds of 'No Parking' signs; hire and train parking enforcement officers; and then defend the resulting parking citations in a court of law. Very few jurisdictions in our region have this type of program. The City of Murrieta believes that educating our residents about the street sweeping program, publicizing the sweeping schedule, and asking that residents not park on the street on sweeping days is a more effective and community friendly way to proceed.
