[ARCHIVED] Residential Slurry Seal Work Kicks Off

Renewed streets are coming! The long-awaited Slurry Seal project is now underway. Over the next four-six months, we will resurface more than 50 percent of the City-maintained residential streets. We're starting with the streets most in need and will complete the remaining streets in 2021. Is your street on this year's list?

Periodic slurry seal application is an important investment in the longevity of our streets and the quality of our community. Our goal is to minimize any inconvenience by helping you be prepared for temporary road closures in your neighborhood. Once we catch up on deferred maintenance, the City will be addressing smaller sections on a rotating two-year cycle with the goal of addressing each street every five-seven years.

Wondering How the Slurry Seal Project will Impact You?

It's not convenient. When your street is scheduled, you cannot drive on it for about six hours after the application. Many residents will move their car to a nearby street the night before. You will know when to do this because:

  • Your street will be highlighted on the most recent Slurry Schedule.
These are released every 1-2 weeks and posted at www.MurrietaCA.Gov/Streets and on the City's Facebook page.
  • A door hanger will be placed at your home.
  • No Parking signs will be posted in your neighborhood at least 72 hours prior to any closures.
  • Our Public Works Project webpage has all the details and we encourage you to check in often.
