Important Public Notification – Workshop Presentation on Hillside Updates – August 15, 2023
A City Council workshop presentation is scheduled for Tuesday, August 15, at 5 p.m. The workshop will be held at City Hall, located at 1 Town Square, Murrieta, CA 92562.
City staff will conduct the workshop, focusing on existing hillside ordinance criteria. The presentation will encompass topics such as overlay and height applicability, slope criteria, ridge criteria, retaining wall details, and more.
Submit written comments to the City Clerk before the presentation or appear in person to voice your thoughts. The workshop documentation can be reviewed at the Planning Division counter, available Monday to Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and every other Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Background: The City's Hillside Development Standards have remained largely unchanged since 1998. To ensure consistency and clarity, City of Murrieta staff is proposing updates to these standards.
Why are these changes needed?: Over time, inconsistencies have arisen in the application and interpretation of the Hillside Standards. These updates aim to eliminate confusion and provide a clearer framework for development.
