[ARCHIVED] Attention Pet Owners: Keep you pets safe during fireworks

dog with fireworks around it and warning of fireworks show

Attention Pet Owners: The City of Murrieta will be firing off celebratory fireworks to conclude our annual Birthday Bash on June 24, 2023, at approximately 9 p.m. While fireworks are a beautiful sight, they can be stressful for our furry friends. Please keep pets securely indoors to protect them from the loud noise.

Pet Safety Tips:

  • Turn on some soft music and move your pet into an interior room with no windows.
  • Call your vet ahead of time for any medication to help ease pet anxiety.
  • An anxiety vest may work in some cases—if you don’t have one, try a snugly fitting t-shirt.
  • Close doors and windows to muffle loud sounds.

The City's partners at Animal Friends of the Valleys are offering $10 microchipping all month, so please consider microchipping your pets if they do not currently have one. Call Animal Friends of the Valleys to schedule an appointment: 951-674-0618

Thank you for keeping our furry friends safe!
