[ARCHIVED] City of Murrieta Holds Candlelight Vigil Tonight to Honor Service and Support Family of Dep. Calhoun

Dep. Calhoun Candlelight Vigil

Please join together in community tonight to honor of the life and service of Riverside County Sheriff's Department Deputy Darnell Calhoun. The City of Murrieta will hold a space to come together for a candlelight vigil, Wednesday, January 18, at 5:30 p.m. Additional details for attendees are included below. 
The candlelight vigil is a way to show our community’s gratitude for Deputy Calhoun’s service and support for his loved ones, including his parents, who are the owners of Murrieta restaurant Calhoun's Texas Family Barbeque.

Vigil details:
  • Town Square Park Amphitheater (11 Town Square Park, Murrieta, CA 92562)
  • Wednesday, January 18, 2023
  • 5:30 p.m.
  • Seating is limited, please bring a chair if needed
  • Limited candles will be provided. Please bring your own candles if possible. Battery-powered flameless candles are a safe option.
  • The following public parking lots are near the Town Square Park Amphitheater: City Hall, Murrieta Public Library, Murrieta Senior Center, Murrieta Community Center
If you can't attend, but would like to be there in spirit, the City will be livestreaming the vigil on their Facebook page (
