Fire Damages Murrieta Home

Murrieta Fire & Rescue responded to a reported residential structure fire on the 41000 block of Primula Circle yesterday evening, December 7, 2022.  A neighbor called 9-1-1 and reported that smoke was seen coming from the second-story window of the home next door. Upon arrival, Murrieta Fire & Rescue personnel immediately engaged in firefighting efforts on the home's first floor, with extensive smoke and heat damage throughout the residence. The fire was extinguished quickly, and overhaul efforts were conducted for more than one hour. There were no injuries to residents or firefighters; however, the family dog did not survive. Due to the fire, the family was displaced from their home and was offered Red Cross services. They are currently staying with relatives in the area.
Approximately two hours after fire personnel left the scene, the fire reignited in the attic, resulting in additional fire response and damage to the structure.

No additional homes were damaged due to the fire. The cause and origin of the fire are under investigation.
