NOTICE OF INTENTION TO AMEND THE CONFLICT OF INTEREST CODE
OF THE CITY OF MURRIETA AND ITS SUBSIDIARY BODIES
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Murrieta (City), pursuant to the authority granted by section 87306 of the Government Code proposes to amend its conflict of interest code (Code). A 45-day comment period has been established commencing on October 20, 2022, and closing on December 6, 2022. All inquiries and comments should be directed to the contact listed below. Pursuant to Government Code sections 87300 through 87302, and 87306, the conflict of interest code designates employees and others who must disclose certain investments, income, interests in real property, and business positions, and who must disqualify themselves from making or participating in the making of governmental decisions affecting those interests.
On September 20, 2022, the City Council accepted Notice that an amendment is necessary to review the Codes designated positions and disclosure categories due to:
- New positions in relation to the City’s organizational chart;
- Eliminated or re-named position titles; and
- Review of disclosure categories based on duties or responsibilities.

WRITTEN COMMENT PERIOD
A written comment period has been established commencing on October 20, 2022, and closing on December 6, 2022. Any interested person may either submit written comments to the City Council no later than December 6, 2022 or may appear and be heard before the City Council at the time the item will be heard during the December 6, 2022 Regular City Council meeting.
