 CITY OF MURRIETA

PUBLIC NOTICE OPENING OF THE 

CDBG APPLICATION CYCLE

  

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT the County of Riverside Economic Development Agency (EDA) has initiated the 2023-2024 Urban County Community Development Block Grant Program for Cooperating Cities application cycle (for the program year starting July 1, 2023) and issued its Notice of Funding Availability. Interested parties may obtain application documents on the City of Murrieta’s website www.murrietaca.gov/350/Community-Development-Block-Grant or from the City Manager’s Office, 1 Town Square, Murrieta, CA 92562. Applicants are required to submit three (3) hard-copies (1 original and two copies) and an electronic (USB Flash Drive) of their applications, with all attachments. Applications must be submitted no later than 
October 27, 2022 4:30 PM.

 

SELECTION 

For the 2023-2024, Program, the City of Murrieta (City) will review and evaluate each application for eligibility and other factors for the use of CDBG funds. The City will be responsible for recommending funding allocations through a Request for Proposal (RFP) process to the City Council in accordance with the City Council’s priority funding categories of:  
1) Community Food Pantries; 2) Women’s Programs; 3) Domestic Violence Programs; and 4) Children and Youth Development Programs. Funding recommendations for final approval will be considered at the November 15, 2022, City Council Meeting or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard
This meeting will occur in the Council Chamber at Murrieta City Hall, 1 Town Square, Murrieta CA at 6:00 p.m. The City will then submit its final 2023-2024, CDBG funding selections to Riverside County Economic Development Agency.
