NOTICE OF CITY COUNCIL MEMBER DISTRICT 1 APPOINTMENT
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant to California Elections Code §10229, the City Council of the City of Murrieta canceled the November 8, 2022, election for member of the City Council, representing District 1 during a Special Meeting held on August 24, 2022.
By the close of the nomination period on Friday, August 12, 2022, only one person filed and qualified for District 1, therefore the following candidate was appointed on August 24, 2022 and is considered to be the same as being elected to the respective office, pursuant to §10229(a)(3) of the California Elections Code:

Jon Levell City Council Member One 4 Years
The City Clerk/Local Elections Official shall not accept for filing any statement of write-in candidacy for District 1, pursuant to California Elections Code §10229.
The General Municipal Election in the City of Murrieta, will continue on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, for the following Offices, as previously noticed:
One (1) Member of the City Council, Representing District 2 (Full term of four years)
One (1) Member of the City Council, Representing District 5 (Full term of four years)
