ORDINANCE SUMMARY
Pursuant to Government Code section 36933(c), the following constitutes a summary of an ordinance introduced on March 1, 2022 and scheduled for further consideration and final adoption at the Regular City Council Meeting on March 15, 2022.
ORDINANCE NO. 575-22
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MURRIETA, CALIFORNIA, REPEALING AND REPLACING CHAPTER 8.28 OF THE MURRIETA MUNICIPAL CODE REGULATING WASTE MANAGEMENT
The City has introduced Ordinance 575-22, which repeals and replaces Murrieta Municipal Code Chapter 8.28 in order to comply with the elements of Senate Bill 1383.
These elements addressed by the Ordinance include: collection services of trash, recyclable and organic collection services for all commercial, multifamily and residential accounts; commercial edible food generator, which are required to recover the maximum amount of edible food that would otherwise be disposed; food recovery organizations; inspections and investigations; and enforcement.
The City held a public hearing on March 1, 2022 where the ordinance was introduced with the following vote:
Ayes: White, Stone, Warren, DeForest, Ingram
Noes: None
Absent: None
