Vietnam Veterans Recognition Day is Tuesday, March 29; however, the VFW would like the event to take place on the Saturday before on March 26 at the Vietnam memorial wall at Town Square Park. The observance event will include speakers and the singing of the National Anthem. It will be a low-key event lasting only an hour or so.

  1. The Tour de Murrieta bike race will take place this year on Saturday, April 2 and Sunday, April 3.  Each day hosts a challenging type of race.  The ever-popular, fast-paced, one-mile Grand Prix will take place on Saturday, April 2.  The first of several race categories on Saturday is expected to begin at 7:30 a.m.  The start/finish line is on Juniper Street in front of the Senior Center.  The 3.5-mile Circuit Race will take place Sunday, April 3 beginning at 7:30 a.m. and is expected to conclude around 4:30 p.m.  This will be the Tour de Murrieta’s 17th anniversary.  Additional information about this event can be found on their website here: Official Site • Tour de Murrieta
