[ARCHIVED] Wooden Horse Explosion

Wooden Horse Explosion

Murrieta Fire & Rescue would like to offer our deepest sympathies and condolences to the family members and coworkers of the Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas) employee that perished during yesterday’s incident on Wooden Horse as well as those who are also recovering from their injuries at home.

We would like to thank our partners who responded and provided assistance during the event: Murrieta Police Department, Murrieta Dispatchers, employees and city council members of the City of Murrieta - City Government, CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department, AMR Riverside County, RivCoReady, Riverside County Sheriff's Department, Corona Fire Department, Hemet Fire Department, City of Riverside Fire Department, City of Corona Police Department and Animal Friends of the Valleys.

The on-scene investigation at the Wooden Horse residence has been completed by Murrieta Fire & Rescue Fire Marshal and Fire Inspectors who worked through the night and into the early morning hours. While the investigation is on-going, the on-scene operations have been completed. We would like to thank the neighbors and community members who reside in the area for your patience as we worked through fire suppression efforts and investigated this incident.

Cleanup efforts are now underway and roadways that were previously closed are now open to traffic with the exception of one section of Spinning Wheel that remains closed to traffic due to safety barricades around the residence.
