All roles offer competitive pay of at least $16.40 - $18.40 depending on the role and shift, as well as a variety of benefits packages starting on the employee’s first day on the job.
“We’re thrilled to continue to invest and grow in Southern California and to provide local customers in these six communities with a new, low-priced neighborhood grocery store,” said David Nielson, regional manager for Amazon Fresh grocery stores. “We’re also excited to welcome more than 1,500 new employees to our team. These are great jobs with competitive pay and benefits and come with the opportunity to grow a career with Amazon.”
Amazon Fresh is a new grocery store that offers a seamless grocery shopping experience whether customers are shopping in-store or online. Customers can find everything they love about Amazon, such as consistent low prices, convenience, and great selection, along with delicious prepared food offerings made in-store every day and a convenient in-store shopping experience. Additionally, these new stores will offer Just Walk Out shopping, which lets shoppers enter a store, grab what they want.
“We’re so excited to welcome the first Amazon Fresh store to Murrieta and to Riverside County,” said Murrieta Mayor Jonathan Ingram. “Not only will this new store provide members of our community with a convenient, quality, and well-priced grocery option close to home, but it will also create hundreds of jobs right here in Murrieta.”
Amazon opened its first Amazon Fresh store in Woodland Hills in 2020 and now operates 10 Amazon Fresh locations in Southern California: Cerritos, Fullerton, Irvine, Ladera Heights, La Habra, Long Beach, Northridge, North Hollywood, Whittier, and Woodland Hills.
One of the many benefits of working at an Amazon Fresh store is the opportunity to cross-train across the entirety of the grocery store. Grocery associates will learn everything from customer service, to stocking shelves, to cashiering, to picking and packing customer orders. Food service associates work in the store’s culinary area, preparing delicious, fresh food offerings for customers each day.
Amazon’s presence in California also reaches beyond the jobs provided within the four walls of its stores and facilities. Since 2010, Amazon has invested more than $80 billion across the state, including infrastructure (such as 92 Whole Foods Market locations and seven Amazon Books store locations) and compensation for its more than 170,000 employees. These investments have helped create more than 259,500 indirect jobs on top of Amazon’s direct hires – from jobs in construction and logistics to professional services.
