ORDINANCE SUMMARY
Pursuant to Government Code section 36933(c), the following constitutes a summary of an ordinance introduced on November 16, 2021, and scheduled for further consideration and final adoption at the Regular City Council Meeting on December 7, 2021 at a public hearing at a time certain of 6:45 p.m.
ORDINANCE NO. 568-21
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MURRIETA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING SECTION 1.21.030 OF THE MURRIETA MUNICIPAL CODE AND ADOPTING REVISED DISTRICT VOTING BOUNDAIRES
On August 1, 2017, the City of Murrieta adopted Ordinance No. 522-17 adding Chapter 1.21 of the Murrieta Municipal Code, City Council Elections by District, changing the City from an at-large voting system to a by-district system, as well as adopted the “Yellow Map” as the boundaries for the City’s voting districts.
In accordance with Municipal Code Section 1.21.030 (B) the proposed ordinance would amend Section 1.21.030 (A) by adopting “Draft Map B” as Exhibit A, “City Council District Map”, as a result of the 2021 Redistricting process.
The City held a public hearing at a time certain of 6:45 p.m. where public input on the proposed draft map was received and the ordinance was introduced with the following vote:
Ayes: Ingram, DeForest, Stone, White, Vinton
Noes: None
Absent: None
