CITY OF MURRIETA
PUBLIC NOTICE
The U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration (EDA) is considering a request for Federal assistance from the City of Murrieta to renovate the existing facility known as the Murrieta Innovation Center, which is located in Murrieta, Riverside County, CA. Pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), the EDA is assessing the potential of the proposed project to affect the environment and/or historic properties.
The project is located within an existing developed commercial building and business park (built in 1991), which consists of renovating approximately 15,000 sq. ft. of existing interior space to improve room access, cosmetics, and construction of a wet lab, dry lab, and clean room. Specific facility improvements will include: replacing interior office walls with glass; upgrading the building sprinkler system and fire alarm; removing and/or adding doors and windows; upgrading all lighting to energy efficient LEDs; replacing all flooring; replacing all ceiling tiles; upgrading electrical panels; painting all interior walls; repair/install insulation; install plumbing to wet lab, conduct minimal site work to bring the building into current building code compliance; provide electrical upgrades necessary to support the higher electrical demands for the wet lab and clean room (additional transformer and panel replacement or upgrades, replacement of the existing switchgear); re-painting the exterior of the building; reconfigure and restripe the parking lot; installation of electric car charging stations; replacing the trash enclosure; and installation of new monument multi-tenant sign.
