NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Murrieta Fire District Board of Directors will hold a public hearing in the Council Chamber, City Hall, 1 Town Square, Murrieta, CA 92562, on Tuesday, July 16, 2019, at 6:00 p.m. regarding the 2019-2020 District Fire Suppression Assessment and Standby or Availability Charge. This assessment was approved by the voters in 1981 with a 79% approval margin. The purpose of the standby or availability charge is to provide supplemental revenue to meet operational expenses for fire suppression and related services within said boundaries of the Murrieta Fire District. This assessment is ongoing.
The Standby or Availability Charge is set at no more than $40 per benefit unit on each residential use by benefit unit or a fraction thereof and each commercial and industrial use by the benefit received based on the ISO fire flow guidelines using 1000 gallons per minute equal to 1.0 unit of benefit, to a maximum of 12 units of benefit. The preliminary estimated value of the assessment is $1,500,866.
The hearing will be held in the Council Chambers at City Hall, One Town Square Murrieta, CA. Any person may appear and be heard regarding the fire suppression assessment.
