CITY OF MURRIETA

NOTICE OF PUBLIC WORKSHOP

 

 

TO: Property owners, residents and interested stakeholders

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public workshop for the HOUSING ELEMENT UPDATE will be held by the City of Murrieta at the City Hall Council Chamber at 1 Town Square, Murrieta, CA 92562 on June 14, 2021, at 5:00 PM.  The public workshop will be conducted as a HYBRID (IN PERSON AND VIA ZOOM) TELECONFERENCE MEETING. The Council Chamber has limited seated that is available on a first-come, first-served basis for those members of the public who choose to attend in person. All persons visiting City Hall shall wear face masks, observe social distancing protocols, are subject to a temperature check and completion of a verbal health questionnaire.  The Agenda for the Meeting with additional information on how the public may attend the workshop virtually, will be available on the City’s Housing Element Update webpage in advance of the meeting at this link: https://www.murrietaca.gov/1056/Housing-Element-Update

 

PROJECT DETAILS: Every eight years the City is required to update the Housing Element in order to comply with State requirements and identify sufficient suitable sites for the housing needs of the community as projected by the State and allocated by the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG). The existing Housing Element is set to expire in October 2021 at the conclusion of the current housing cycle. A draft Housing Element for the 2021-2029 cycle has been prepared by the City and is currently on public review on the project webpage at the following link: https://www.murrietaca.gov/1056/Housing-Element-Update

 

WORKSHOP: The purpose of the workshop is to provide the community an overview of the Housing Element Update, the process that the City’s update has followed, a summary of the draft update and the next steps as the City prepares for adoption of a new Housing Element.  Any person may either submit written comments to City staff in advance of the workshop or may appear and be heard in person at the time of the workshop at City Hall, or virtually online.
