[ARCHIVED] Notice of Public Hearing- Proposed Resolution Establishing Fees for Short-Term Vacation Rentals

CITY OF MURRIETA

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held before the City Council of the City of Murrieta on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. AS A TELECONFERENCE MEETING based at City Hall, 1 Town Square, Murrieta, CA 92562, to consider the following matter

PROPOSED RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING FEES FOR SHORT-TERM VACATION RENTALS – RELATES TO (DCA-2019-1878) “SHORT-TERM VACATION RENTALS” A request by the City of Murrieta to adopt a Fee Resolution establishing a nonrefundable permit and renewal fees for STVRs, which said fees shall defray the reasonable costs of administration and enforcement of those facilities.

Environmental Determination: The proposed action with the levying of short-term vacation rental application and renewal fees has been reviewed in accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act (“CEQA”) and the CEQA Guidelines and it has been determined that the adoption of this resolution is exempt from CEQA pursuant to Sections 15060(b)(3) and 15378. Implementation the fees are not a “project” under CEQA as its purpose is to provide a funding mechanism to recover the City’s general administrative and enforcement costs related to the implementation and management of the City’s short-term vacation rental provisions, which would not result in a potentially significant physical impact on the environment.

Any person may either submit written comments to the City Council before the hearing or may appear and be heard before the City Council at the time of the hearing via TELECONFERENCE.  State law provides that if you challenge the City’s action on this project in court you may be limited to raising only those issues you or someone else raised at the public hearing described in this notice, or in written correspondence delivered to the City Council via EMAIL OR TELECONFERENCE prior to the public hearing.

The draft resolution and environmental findings along with the proposed project application may be reviewed by contacting the project planner, Chris Tracy at (951) 461-6046 or by e-mail at [email protected].
