FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Murrieta Join with its City Neighbor for Halloween Home Contest

Calling all lovers of creepy crawlers, masterfully carved pumpkins, and frightening front yards: Murrieta’s first-Ever Halloween Home Decorating Contest kicks off on October 1, 2020. This event is in partnership--and in friendly competition--with the City of Temecula, and residents will ultimately choose a single winner from the neighboring cities.

Murrieta participants enter the local arm of the contest, and local judges will select category winners for the city. At the conclusion of the city-specific portion, residents from both Murrieta and Temecula will join to select an overall winner. Individual homes, partial neighborhoods and entire neighborhoods can enter. Participants compete to be the scariest, most humorous, most original, or best themed.

Register at: www.tinyurl.com/halloweencontest2020 for Murrieta entries.  Entrants must send photos of the decorated home for judging by Monday, October 26 to: [email protected]. The City will post a map of the category winners at www.MurrietaCA.gov, and voting for an overall winner will run from October 27-29, with the top vote-recipient announced on Friday, October 30.

Please note: only front yards are eligible. Please do not send backyard or interior photos. For more information, please visit MurrietaCA.gov or call (951) 304-PARK (7275).
