Back to Business Grants Return for Round 2
On Thursday, October 15, 2020, at 9 a.m., eligible small businesses impacted by COVID can request up to $10k on a first-come, first-served basis as the City of Murrieta kicks off Round 2 of its Back-to-Business Grant program.
As with the first round of grants, businesses must have 15 or fewer employees, excluding the owner, and show a need for funding. More than half of the employees must have incomes at or below 80% of the local median. Currently that is $40,250 for an individual or $57,450 for a family of four. Visit www.MurrietaCA.gov/businessgrants for additional information.
“Small businesses are the heart of our community; and they are among those hardest hit by the COVID economy,” says City Manager Kim Summers, “We take pride in our ability to work with and for local business by connecting them with resources and bringing creative solutions like this grant program to the table.”
The City’s Back-to-Business grant program currently operates with existing, re-programmed Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds. This allows the City to provide business support without affecting its General Fund. This round will distribute the remainder of the $250k allocated by the City Council and is for eligible businesses that have not previously received a City Back-to-Business Grant. Fifteen businesses have already received Back to Business grants during the first round.
