CITY OF MURRIETA NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held before the Planning Commission of the City of Murrieta Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at 6:00 PM AS A TELECONFERENCE MEETING based at City Hall, 1 Town Square, Murrieta CA 92562. DEVELOPMENT PLAN 2018-1652 / CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT 2018-1653 / TENTATIVE PARCEL MAP 2018-1654: The applicant, Costco Wholesale, is proposing to construct a 153,362 square foot retail building and a 32-pump fueling station on 16.42 acres. A Conditional Use Permit is for the operation of tire sales and installation and to display an automobile in front of the retail building. Tentative Parcel Map 37511 is for the subdivision of 26 acres into two units totaling 8 parcels. The project site is located northerly of Clinton Keith Road, east of Antelope Road and southerly of Linnel Lane. Assessor’s Parcel No.: 392-290-025, -026, -028, -029, -051, 392-270-030 and -033.
Environmental Determination: The project has been determined to require an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) pursuant to the Guidelines for Implementation of the California Environmental Quality Act, California Code of Regulations Title 14. The EIR was prepared for the project and was circulated for a 45-day public review from May 20, 2020 to July 6, 2020. The Planning Commission will consider the Final EIR and the findings prepared for a Statement of Overriding Considerations, whereby feasible mitigation measures identified in the Final EIR that are within the purview of the City would be implemented with the proposed project, and that the remaining significant unavoidable effects are outweighed and are found to be acceptable due to specific overriding economic, legal, social, technological, or other benefits.
Any person may either submit written comments to the Planning Commission (PC) before the hearing or may appear and be heard by the PC at the time of the hearing. Due to the COVID-19 situation, the PC hearing will be held in a tele-conference manner. State law provides that if you challenge the City’s action on this project in court you may be limited to raising only those issues you or someone else raised at the public hearing described in this notice, or in written correspondence delivered to the Planning Commission at, or prior to the public hearing. Due to Covid-19, City Hall is not currently open to the public. You may request additional information from the project planner, whom will also make themselves available via phone to go over any questions and/or concerns that you may have with the proposal.
