Murrieta Citizens Academy Provides Inside Look at City Hall

The City of Murrieta is kicking off a new, City Hall Citizen’s Academy. The Academy runs for eight consecutive weeks beginning March 7, 2020, with a Saturday introduction and tour of City facilities and development sites. It continues on Thursday nights through April 23, 2020. Throughout the series, you will hear from various City departments, learning what they do, and how that work is making an impact in our community. This is an opportunity to get an inside view of how the City operates, its priorities and vision for the future.

“Informed and engaged citizens are key to a thriving City,” says Murrieta Mayor Gene Wunderlich. “We’ve run very successful Police and Fire Academies. Now we are bringing that concept to City Hall. Whether you are an aspiring Commission or Council member, a curious resident or a business owner, this series will leave you more connected and with a greater understanding of how we work.”

There is no cost to participate, but space is limited. The City will give priority to Murrieta residents, followed by those who have a business, or work within the City limits. Registrations will be accepted until full, or through Friday, March 6, 2020, at 3 p.m.

Citizens Academy graduates will receive a certificate and special recognition at a City Council meeting. Those who complete all three Academies (City Hall, Fire and Police) will become City Ambassadors. More information is available at To register or for more information, please email in the City Clerk’s office or call 951-461-3031.
