On Tuesday, February 18, 2020, from 3:45 p.m. to 5:45 p.m., City staff will present information on the background and growth of short-term vacation rentals and how other cities are regulating their use. The workshop will look at potential next steps and hear public comments.
The purpose of this workshop is to provide the City Council with information to address short-term rentals. Tuesday’s outcome may be a request for additional information, or request for a draft ordinance, which would go to the Planning Commission and then City Council.
If there are a large number of speaker requests, Council may give priority to Murrieta residents. The workshop will end between 5:45 and 6 p.m. to accommodate the regular City Council meeting that follows.
