NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held before the City Council of the City of Murrieta on Tuesday, February 18, 2020, at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall, 1 Town Square, Murrieta, CA 92562, to consider the following matter:
DEVELOPMENT CODE AMENDMENT (DCA-2019-1880): A proposed amendment of the city’s Development Code, initiated by the City of Murrieta to amend sections 16.08, 16.10, 16.11, 16.12, 16.14, 16.34, 16.44, 16.46, 16.52, 16.56, 16.62, 16.76, 16.78, 16.94, and 16.110 and Title 5.04, 8.12, and 8.44 of the City’s Municipal Code.
Environmental Determination: Categorically exempt pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section §15061(b)(3) - “[w]here it can be seen with certainty that there is no possibility that the activity in question may have a significant effect on the environment.” Amending the City’s Development Code as presented does not alter the existing zoning regulations in any substantive manner that results in any direct or indirect physical change in the environment or cause any significant environmental effects. Furthermore, the updates concerning Accessory Dwelling Units are statutory exempt, pursuant to Public Resources Code Section §21080.17 (adoption of an ordinance by a city to implement the provisions of Sections §65852.1 or §65852.2 of the Government Code), of the CEQA Guidelines.
Any person may either submit written comments to the City Council before the hearing or may appear and be heard before the City Council at the time of the hearing. If you challenge the City’s action on this project in court you may be limited to raising only those issues you or someone else raised at the public hearing described in this notice, or in written correspondence delivered to the City Council at, or prior to the public hearing. The environmental finding along with the proposed project application may be reviewed at the Planning Division Monday – Thursday from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and every other Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
