Members
The Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) is comprised of 5 members who serve a 1 year term. CAC applicants are selected by a City Council subcommittee.
Duties
The CAC is charged with advising City staff on the use of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds and providing recommendations to the City Council for social service projects that will benefit Murrieta's low and moderate income residents.
The CAC is responsible for recommending approximately $40,000 in CDBG funds through a Request for Proposal (RFP) process. The primary purpose of the CDBG program is to develop viable urban communities by providing decent housing and a suitable living environment, and by expanding economic opportunities, principally for low and moderate-income persons.
