Annual Community Cleanup Events
Each year, a free annual community cleanup event is provided to Murrieta residents. The event is held on a Saturday in the Spring and Fall at the City Hall Rear Parking Lot. Residents may bring a load of old, unwanted items around the house - even bulky ones. Acceptable items include:
- Appliances (refrigerators need to be free of Freon)
- Bulky waste (unusable furniture, mattresses, etc.)
- Green waste (separated from trash) Bundled and no more than 3 ft.
- Household trash
- Scrap metal
- Wood
The 2020 Community Clean-Up on October 17 has been cancelled.
ABOP Drop-Off Center
The Riverside County Antifreeze, Batteries, used Oil and latex Paint (ABOP) facility is open every Saturday (except holiday weekends and weather permitting), to collect your used antifreeze, household and automotive batteries, used oil and latex paint. The center is open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is located at 25315 Jefferson Avenue in Murrieta (just North of Murrieta Hot Springs Road).
