911 for Kids
911 for Kids is a program designed to teach elementary school children how to save lives and property through the proper use of the 911 emergency number. This is an instructional program which targets children in the first grade.
The cost of training aids (i.e. videos, activity books, posters and stickers) are all reimbursable by the State of California. The individual department's responsibility for participation in the program is to provide the instruction and presentation to the students.
Instruction
Through fun participation, children will learn how to call 911, when to call 911, what information to give the 911 dispatcher and how important it is for them to know their own home address and phone number. Based on voluntary participation, the Murrieta Police Communications Division will assign a Communications Operator to each school for a presentation.
