The City of Murrieta is set to show appreciation to its outstanding public servants whose remarkable work is making life better for all Americans during Public Service Recognition Week slated for May 7-11, 2018.
Public Service Recognition Week (PSRW) began in 1985, as a nationwide public recognition campaign honoring the men and women who serve our nation as federal, state, county and local government employees. Each year the President and Congress designate the first full week of May as PSRW and activities are held nationwide in celebration of public employees who put service above self.
I have the pleasure every day of witnessing firsthand the remarkable contributions and achievements of our City employees,” said City Manager Kim Summers. “Even during challenging times, they continue working to find innovative solutions to complex issues. Our dedicated employees maintain our streets, park, traffic signals and signs; respond to crime, fire and car accidents, oversee development, among many other roles. We want to give our citizens a chance to show their appreciation to our local public servants so they know that their hard work does not go unnoticed. I am proud to serve with each of them.
The City of Murrieta has more than 300 full and part-time employees serving in 5 different departments. City employees are truly committed to SERVE our community of more than 113,000 residents.
