Library Undergoing Database Maintenance - Closed to Public on September 22

MURRIETA, CA - Beginning September 18, 2017, the Murrieta Public Library will be undergoing database maintenance leading up to a one-day closure on September 22, 2017, as the Palmdale Library joins the  network. The maintenance requires the network to work in an off-line mode until all of the Palmdale Library records can be added to the shared database. Off-line mode will affect not only the Murrieta Public Library but also Riverside County Library System, Santa Clarita, Simi Valley, Upland and Moorpark libraries.

Patrons can expect the following in off-line mode:

Library cards must be present to check out materials

  • Staff will not have the ability to look up card information, view accounts, or check due dates
  • Checkouts will be limited to 10 items per card
  • Staff will be unable to accept fine/fee payments
  • Due dates will be extended so materials will not be due during the week of September 18 thru September 23, as we will be unable to check in materials
  • Staff will be unable to issue library cards during this time
  • Library catalogs and online account and renewal will be inaccessible
  • Public access computers will be accessible
  • All programming will continue as usual and staff will be available to personally help patrons find materials and check out items

During the closure on September 22, 2017, staff will be working diligently to check in and shelve materials. It will also allow the time needed to input and review data that was unable to be added to the database during off-line mode. The Murrieta Public Library staff takes the commitment to the community seriously and we look forward to a smooth transition with the cooperation of our supportive patrons.
