Loma Linda Expands Emergency Care Department
MURRIETA- Loma Linda University Medical Center expanded its emergency care department last month by adding five new treatment rooms. Emergency room visits to the Loma Linda Medical Center have increased every year since the hospitals opening in 2011. With the addition of the new rooms, Loma Linda is prepared to respond quickly and better meet the needs of patients. The emergency care department currently provides care to more than 130 patients daily and more than 45,000 patients every year.
The new rooms called “flex care spaces” were revealed on June 19th at a ribbon cutting ceremony. Jared Horricks, executive director of facilities management spoke at the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
“This five-bed addition is expected to make a major impact on the hospital’s ability to provide timely patient access to medical providers,” Horricks said. Loma Linda is expecting to add two more beds to the emergency care department in the coming months.
