Stop Identity Theft Program

Stop Identity Theft Program - Document On-Site Shredding Event

To help stop identity theft and as a service to our residents, the City of Murrieta City Clerk Department is hosting a FREE Document On-Site Shredding Event. The event will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019 from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. or until the truck is filled to capacity. Residents may bring up to FIVE banker-sized boxes per trip, to the back parking lot of City Hall.

Items that may be included are paper documents such as legal, medical, financial, tax, bank, photos, and credit card statements (no need to remove staples or paper clips). Residents may also bring credit cards and CDs. No businesses please.

Summer Reading Program for Teens at the Murrieta Library

MURRIETA, CA – The 2017 Reading by Design! Teen Summer Reading Program starts on Saturday, June 10 for grades 7 - 12. Teens will have the opportunity to win prizes such as gift cards, movie tickets and fun gadgets, by reading books this summer. Every reading card submitted will be entered into the Teen weekly and finale prize drawings. Teens will also earn money for Animal Friends of the Valleys, the local animal shelter, Santa Rosa Plateau Foundation, which supports Santa Rosa Plateau’s educational outreach, and for Paws 4 Law, which supports the Murrieta Police Department’s K9 unit.

Make plans to read with us, earn money for Animal Friends of the Valleys, the Santa Rosa Plateau Foundation, and Paws 4 Law, and attend the activities listed below. Pick up a Teen Reading Card at the Adult Information Desk beginning June 10 and start reading!

  • CHP Start Smart* - June 12, 6 p.m.   Safety class for new teen drivers.

  • Freedom in Motion – June 13, 1 p.m. Beginning Parkour class!
  • Cupcake Decorating* - June 15, 4 p.m. Artistic cupcake decorating.
  • Anime Club* - June 19 & July 17, 3 p.m.   Watch and discuss your favorite Anime!
  • Lock-In Party** - June 23, 5 p.m.   After hours party for grades 9-12! Registration required.
  • Story of You* - June 26, 2 p.m.   Watercolor self-portrait.
  • Makers Club* - July 6, 4 p.m.   Learn about basket weaving and create a henna tattoo design.
  • Make It & Take It Pizza* - July 21, 2 p.m. Make a pizza to take home and bake.
  • Finale! Pizza & Prizes - July 21, 3 p.m. Pizza and snacks. Prizes for ALL!

*Space is limited. Passes are available 30 minutes before the activity.

**Parent permission and waiver forms must be submitted by June 16.

These activities are free and open to the public and are sponsored by the Friends of the Murrieta Library and local businesses.
