Loma Linda University to open one of a kind neonatal unit

Important news for expectant parents in Southwest Riverside County, Loma Linda University is opening a one of a kind neonatal unit later this year, which allows parents and baby to sleep in the same room, that no other neonatal units in the region allow.

“Our new NICU will allow us to keep the family and baby together which will reduce stress for parents and especially our newborn patients,” Dr. Raylene Phillips, co-director of neonatology at Loma Linda University Medical Center Murrieta, said.

The six bed level II facility will open at Loma Linda University medical center located off the I-215 in the City’s North Technology Corridor. The corridor is expanding with more than just one new development, Kaiser Permanente is also building new offices in the area.
