To help stop identity theft and as a service to our residents, the City of Murrieta City Clerk Department is hosting a FREE Document On-Site Shredding Event. The event will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019 from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. or until the truck is filled to capacity. Residents may bring up to FIVE banker-sized boxes per trip, to the back parking lot of City Hall.
Items that may be included are paper documents such as legal, medical, financial, tax, bank, photos, and credit card statements (no need to remove staples or paper clips). Residents may also bring credit cards and CDs. No businesses please.

MURRIETA, CA – The Murrieta Library’s Heritage Room received some exciting items this month! The historic items include: an original hand-painted poster of the 11th annual Fireman’s BBQ from 1959, an original sheet music book written by R.C. Hargrave, “Dulce de Murrieta”, circa the late 1800s, and a blueprint etching map of the Murrieta portion of the Temecula Ranch, subdivided by the Temecula Land and Water Company, 1884. These materials have been indefinitely loaned to the Heritage Room by Dawn Williams-Volk and are now on display.
Also on display in the Heritage Room: Over 400 photographs from the Ron Wickerd Collection, related to the people and places of Murrieta, that have been cataloged, described, and imaged in a Heritage Room Photo Collection Binder, available to view at any time during opening hours of the Library. Images in the catalog span over 100 years of Murrieta’s history and include: Native American rock art, the Tarwater family and home, as well as almost 100 submissions for the Historic Resource Inventory including many houses, bungalows and barns that are no longer standing.
