Stop Identity Theft Program

Stop Identity Theft Program - Document On-Site Shredding Event

To help stop identity theft and as a service to our residents, the City of Murrieta City Clerk Department is hosting a FREE Document On-Site Shredding Event. The event will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019 from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. or until the truck is filled to capacity. Residents may bring up to FIVE banker-sized boxes per trip, to the back parking lot of City Hall.

Items that may be included are paper documents such as legal, medical, financial, tax, bank, photos, and credit card statements (no need to remove staples or paper clips). Residents may also bring credit cards and CDs. No businesses please.

Annual Community Clean-Up

The City of Murrieta and Waste Management will host the annual Community Clean-Up event on Saturday, October 29, 2016 from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. at the corner of 2nd and Kalmia Street.  This free event is offered to all Murrieta residents with proof of residency.  Waste Management will recycle all materials that can be diverted from the landfill. Acceptable items for free disposal include:

  • Green Waste
  • Electronic Waste
  • Bulky Waste
  • Old Appliances
  • Scrap Metal

Items that won’t be accepted include auto batteries, paint and oil, insecticides and toxic chemicals, household hazardous waste and medical needles. For those who are unable to attend the Community Clean-Up day, the city’s refuse hauler, Waste Management, provides two free large-item pick-ups a year.
