Stop Identity Theft Program

Stop Identity Theft Program - Document On-Site Shredding Event

To help stop identity theft and as a service to our residents, the City of Murrieta City Clerk Department is hosting a FREE Document On-Site Shredding Event. The event will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019 from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. or until the truck is filled to capacity. Residents may bring up to FIVE banker-sized boxes per trip, to the back parking lot of City Hall.

Items that may be included are paper documents such as legal, medical, financial, tax, bank, photos, and credit card statements (no need to remove staples or paper clips). Residents may also bring credit cards and CDs. No businesses please.

Genealogy Consulting at the Library

MURRIETA, CA – The Murrieta Public Library offers genealogy consulting with specialist Karl Weiler, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 p.m., every fourth Monday of the month, through November 28 in the Library’s Heritage Room.

Mr. Weiler is a board member of the Temecula Genealogical Society and Temecula Historical Society and a staff member and trainer at the Murrieta Stake Family History Center. He has also taught genealogical classes at the Temecula Public Library. Genealogical databases and websites, including, will be available to help with family history needs.

The Heritage Room is located within the Library on the south side. These genealogical sessions are free and are open to the public. Patrons can arrive for consultations anytime within the three-hour blocks.
