Stop Identity Theft Program

Stop Identity Theft Program - Document On-Site Shredding Event

To help stop identity theft and as a service to our residents, the City of Murrieta City Clerk Department is hosting a FREE Document On-Site Shredding Event. The event will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019 from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. or until the truck is filled to capacity. Residents may bring up to FIVE banker-sized boxes per trip, to the back parking lot of City Hall.

Items that may be included are paper documents such as legal, medical, financial, tax, bank, photos, and credit card statements (no need to remove staples or paper clips). Residents may also bring credit cards and CDs. No businesses please.

Library Offers Programs for Adults in January

MURRIETA, CA – A representative from Brandman University will present a resume building workshop for adults on Wednesday, January 13, at 3:00 p.m. This workshop will give an overview of how to make a professional resume that employers will notice. Brandman University, part of Chapman University System, is a private, nonprofit institution accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges that offers academic programs both online and at over 25 campuses throughout California and Washington.

Attorney Jeffrey Nickerson will present “Estate Planning 101”, a workshop focusing on wills, trusts, financial powers of attorney, health care directives and more, on Tuesday, January 19, at 6:00 p.m. Mr. Nickerson has been a practicing attorney for almost 20 years and specializes in estate planning and conservatorship.

Culinary expert and instructor Celine Coussou will present “Make a Healthy Change for a New You!” on Tuesday, January 26, at 6:00 p.m. She will share tips on basic nutrition to improve diet, boost energy and feeling good every day. Demonstration and tasting included, limited to 20 adult participants. This is the first in a series of four programs that Ms. Coussou will present at the Library this spring. She is the author of Cooking with Trader Joe’s Cookbook: Pack a Lunch!” Sponsored by the Friends of the Murrieta Library.

All programs will be held in the Library’s Community Room and are free and open to public. The Murrieta Public Library is located at 8 Town Square (Adams Avenue and Kalmia Street).
