To help stop identity theft and as a service to our residents, the City of Murrieta City Clerk Department is hosting a FREE Document On-Site Shredding Event. The event will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019 from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. or until the truck is filled to capacity. Residents may bring up to FIVE banker-sized boxes per trip, to the back parking lot of City Hall.
Items that may be included are paper documents such as legal, medical, financial, tax, bank, photos, and credit card statements (no need to remove staples or paper clips). Residents may also bring credit cards and CDs. No businesses please.
For more information on this event, please call (951) 461-6013.
The city of Murrieta would like to remind residents that Waste Management will begin to collect Christmas trees on your regular collection day beginning on Monday, December 28, 2015 and continue through Friday, January 8, 2016. Simply place your tree out at the curb on your collection day. Please remove all tinsel, ornaments and metal stands from trees. Trees taller than 6 feet must be cut in half. Flocked trees will be collected but cannot be recycled because they are potentially harmful to the environment. If you would like to recycle your tree after the special collection period, please cut it into pieces and place it into your green waste cart or schedule a bulky item pick-up. For more information, contact Waste Management at 800-423-9986.
The city’s Christmas tree recycling program is an effort to keep trees out of landfills. All trees collected become mulch used to green parks, community gardens, and other public spaces. The mulch helps the city's trees and plants by deterring weeds, retaining moisture, and adding nutrients to the soil resulting in a significant annual cost savings for Murrieta.
