Stop Identity Theft Program

Stop Identity Theft Program - Document On-Site Shredding Event

To help stop identity theft and as a service to our residents, the City of Murrieta City Clerk Department is hosting a FREE Document On-Site Shredding Event. The event will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019 from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. or until the truck is filled to capacity. Residents may bring up to FIVE banker-sized boxes per trip, to the back parking lot of City Hall.

Items that may be included are paper documents such as legal, medical, financial, tax, bank, photos, and credit card statements (no need to remove staples or paper clips). Residents may also bring credit cards and CDs. No businesses please.

Coffee and Donuts Checkpoint

The Murrieta Police Department is excited to announce its participation in the nationally recognized Coffee with a Cop program with our inaugural event being held on Friday, December 18th from 7:00 am to 10:00 am in the Murrieta Spectrum parking lot at 25125 Madison Avenue, in the City of Murrieta.

The mission of the Murrieta Police Department’s Coffee with a Cop program is to help break down any barriers that may exist between law enforcement and the citizens we serve. Coffee with a Cop brings police officers and community members together over coffee to discuss issues and learn more about each other in an informal setting as well as providing an opportunity for citizens to ask questions and learn more about the department’s work. The event is intended to be free of politics and held in a casual environment that allows both officers and citizens to feel more comfortable engaging in discussion. A major goal of this program is to create a lasting bond between the community and those who serve and protect it.

For this event, the Murrieta Police Department will be partnering with Murrieta Fire Department to hold a “Coffee and Donuts Checkpoint” in the Murrieta Spectrum parking lot. The police department’s command post will be there along with the fire department’s brand new truck and several representatives from both agencies will be available for questions or just plain old conversation.

The nearby Starbucks will be donating fresh coffee while Murrieta’s newly opened Dunkin’ Donuts will be donating their delicious donuts for all attendees to enjoy.

Most people only meet a cop or firefighter during a moment of crisis or a traffic stop, hardly the ideal time to get to know each other. It is our hope that this event will remove barriers and allow community members to meet their first responders on mutual grounds and sit down together while enjoying a cup of coffee.

The Murrieta Police and Fire Department value their connection with the community and recognize the value in maintaining a strong partnership. The residents and businesses of Murrieta play a vital role in keeping the community safe and we would like to use this opportunity to keep those lines of communication open.
