Stop Identity Theft Program - Document On-Site Shredding Event

To help stop identity theft and as a service to our residents, the City of Murrieta City Clerk Department is hosting a FREE Document On-Site Shredding Event. The event will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019 from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. or until the truck is filled to capacity. Residents may bring up to FIVE banker-sized boxes per trip, to the back parking lot of City Hall.

Items that may be included are paper documents such as legal, medical, financial, tax, bank, photos, and credit card statements (no need to remove staples or paper clips). Residents may also bring credit cards and CDs. No businesses please.

City of Murrieta Community Clean-Up

The City of Murrieta and Waste Management of the Inland Empire will host the annual Community Clean-Up event on Saturday, October 24, 2015 from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. at 2nd Avenue and Kalmia Street.  This free event is offered to all Murrieta residents with proof of residency.  Almost all items will be collected at this event, and Waste Management will recycle all materials that can be diverted from the landfill.

In addition, this year's event will feature free, on-site document shredding.  This service is limited to Murrieta residents, and not businesses.  Residents can bring up to three banker boxes or bags for shredding.

Acceptable items for free disposal include:

  • Green Waste/Wood Recyclable Items
  • Furniture
  • Bulky Items
  • Old Appliances (must remove Freon from refrigerators)

About the only items not accepted at the Community Clean-Up will be household hazardous waste.  However, Riverside County is hosting a full-service household hazardous waste event on the same day (October 24, 2015) from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the rear parking lot of City Hall.
