To help stop identity theft and as a service to our residents, the City of Murrieta City Clerk Department is hosting a FREE Document On-Site Shredding Event. The event will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019 from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. or until the truck is filled to capacity. Residents may bring up to FIVE banker-sized boxes per trip, to the back parking lot of City Hall.
Items that may be included are paper documents such as legal, medical, financial, tax, bank, photos, and credit card statements (no need to remove staples or paper clips). Residents may also bring credit cards and CDs. No businesses please.

Grading is underway on the new Dunkin Donut which will showcase the brand in Murrieta. The City is delighted that Dunkin selected Murrieta for the first such restaurant in Southwest Riverside County.
CJ Wilson Automotive Dealership from Chicago is opening the KTM Motorcycles of Murrieta showroom on Jefferson Avenue in the South Murrieta Business Corridor. KTM, an Austrian company, already has a large North American regional headquarters in Murrieta. CJ Wilson is also working to open the second motorcycle dealership which will be the BMW Motorcycles of Murrieta showroom in the same complex.
Security Bank has purchased Rabobank and has now opened their Murrieta/Temecula facility on Murrieta Hot Springs Road in Murrieta.
Murrieta is becoming an attractive community for new hotel development. Hampton Inn has started construction of their new four story Hilton-branded hotel on Hancock. This hotel will be joining the existing Comfort Suites of Murrieta. Residence Inn by Marriott will be opening by the end of the year on Madison Avenue in Murrieta. The second phase of this Madison Avenue hotel complex will be the Courtyard by Marriott which will start construction by the end of the year.
Construction is underway on the Baron's Market on Cal Oaks. They recently indicated that the market will be open by the end of the year.
WC Air/Plumbing is currently demolishing the former Malibu Boats display area and constructing a major 14,000 square foot expansion to their business on Golden Gate, adjacent to the west side of the I-15 freeway.
Murrieta is growing its craft microbrew businesses. Backyard Bottleshop has been growing their existing business in Murrieta at Murrieta Hot Springs Road and Margarita. Bulldog Brewery is working with the City of Murrieta and InSoCal CONNECT to finance their own expansion. Garage Brewing is in the process of establishing a large production facility in Murrieta.
The City helped sponsor various business events recently, including an organic farming Veterans training program and hosted the Governor’s Office of Business Development which provided training on State Income Tax Credits available for businesses. The City recently sponsored a business training program on cybersecurity. The City is also working in cooperation with the CSUSM to promote their new Master’s Degree in Cybersecurity for business. Cybersecurity is projected to become one of the fastest growing career opportunities.
The City continues to host the ever popular Monthly Business Roundtable in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and SCORE at its new location, the Murrieta Innovation Center. This is an opportunity for businesses to meet and to discuss issues affecting their businesses with their peers.
The City is working in partnership with InSoCal CONNECT to host the Kaufman Foundation Million Cups entrepreneurial training program at the Murrieta Innovation Center.
