Animal Friends of the Valley (AFV) wants to help Murrieta residents keep their pets safe. Join AFV on Saturday, August 8th, 2015 for a FREE microchip clinic for dogs and cats. The microchip clinic for Murrieta pets will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at PETCO located at 24480 Village Walk Place, Murrieta, CA 92562. No appointments are needed and all pets are welcome, but residents must provide proof of Murrieta residency and should ensure their animal companions are leashed or in an appropriate carrier.
A microchip is the most effective form of permanent identification for pets. Microchips are approximately the size of a grain of rice and safe to use for pet identification purposes, linking the pet to the owner’s contact information. Pet microchipping is a common and safe procedure, where a microchip is implanted between the shoulder blades of your pet using a quick, non-surgical process. The entire process takes only a few seconds to complete. When your lost pet is found, shelters, veterinarians and rescue groups will scan the pet for the microchip increasing the odds of a pet being returned to their family.
If you are unable to come to the free clinic to get your pet microchipped on August 8th, AFV will be providing free microchips for Murrieta residents during regular business hours. For more information contact AFV at 951-674-0618 or visit them online at http://www.animalfriendsofthevalleys.com/.
