To help stop identity theft and as a service to our residents, the City of Murrieta City Clerk Department is hosting a FREE Document On-Site Shredding Event. The event will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019 from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. or until the truck is filled to capacity. Residents may bring up to FIVE banker-sized boxes per trip, to the back parking lot of City Hall.
Items that may be included are paper documents such as legal, medical, financial, tax, bank, photos, and credit card statements (no need to remove staples or paper clips). Residents may also bring credit cards and CDs. No businesses please.

The City of Murrieta and InSoCal CONNECT sponsored the Grand Opening of the Murrieta Innovation Center last month. The event took place on June 23, and welcomed over 200 guests. The Murrieta Innovation Center is a City-owned and operated facility that connects new, innovative businesses with mentoring support, capital, and facilities to develop the vision into reality, focus on healthcare technologies, medical devices, and national security.
The City recently approved the development of Panera Bread on Madison Avenue on a pad in front of Lowe's Home Improvement store.
The Hat, the iconic pastrami restaurant from Los Angeles, is currently completing tenant improvements in the Sam's Club shopping center and will be opening this summer.
Dunkin' Donuts is working to open their first facility in Southwest Riverside County on Murrieta Hot Springs Road in Murrieta and plans to start construction late fall/early winter.
The City is reviewing the application submitted by Golden Corral for a new restaurant on Murrieta Hot Springs Road.
D'Town Public House is opening this summer in the Murrieta Village area on Washington Avenue in Historic Downtown Murrieta.
The new Residence Inn by Marriott which is located on Madison Avenue, is opening this fall.
The four-story, 177 room, Courtyard Hotel by Marriott is starting construction next to the Residence Inn.
The four-story Hampton Inn Hotel site on Hancock Avenue is currently being graded for development.
The City is currently scheduling the public hearing for the CarMax project on Madison Avenue, just south of Murrieta Wal-Mart. This will be the largest CarMax facility in the United States.
Public hearings are also scheduled for the Kaiser Permanente Murrieta Valley Healthcare Campus to be located at the northeast corner of Antelope and Keller Road. Kaiser is proposing the phased development of a master planned 900,000 square foot campus on 40 acres in the North Murrieta Technology Corridor.
