Stop Identity Theft Program

Stop Identity Theft Program - Document On-Site Shredding Event

To help stop identity theft and as a service to our residents, the City of Murrieta City Clerk Department is hosting a FREE Document On-Site Shredding Event. The event will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019 from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. or until the truck is filled to capacity. Residents may bring up to FIVE banker-sized boxes per trip, to the back parking lot of City Hall.

Items that may be included are paper documents such as legal, medical, financial, tax, bank, photos, and credit card statements (no need to remove staples or paper clips). Residents may also bring credit cards and CDs. No businesses please.

Estate Attorney to Give Workshops at Library

MURRIETA, CA – Attorney Jeffrey Nickerson returns to the Murrieta Public Library to present two separate workshops focusing on estate planning. Estate Planning 101 will be on Wednesday, May 6 at 2:00 p.m. and Special Needs Estate Planning follows on Tuesday, May 12th at 6:00 p.m. Both programs will be presented in the Murrieta Library’s Community Room. These are the same programs that Mr. Nickerson presented in March; however, they are offered again at different times, for any of those who were unable to attend the first programs.

Estate Planning 101 covers wills, trusts, financial powers of attorney, heath care directives and more, while Special Needs Estate Planning is designed for families of a dependent with a disability or special need. Mr. Nickerson has been a practicing attorney for almost 20 years and specializes in estate planning and conservatorship. He is a member of the Academy of Special Needs Planning.
