The Murrieta Creek Regional Trail project will be recognized by the California Department of Parks and Recreation at the California Trails and Greenways Conference on April 23, 2015. The Cities of Temecula, Murrieta, Wildomar, and Lake Elsinore along with the local chapter of the Sierra club have been working for the past two years on the Conceptual Alignment Analysis and Recommendations for the Murrieta Creek Regional Trail.
The Santa Margarita Group of the San Gorgonio Chapter of the Sierra Club received a Technical Assistance Grant from the National Parks Services that help facilitate the completion of this planning document.
All four cities are currently planning grand opening celebrations for June 6, 2015 for the interim trail. This date will coincide with National Trails Day. The public is invited to join in the activities. For more information, please visit www.murrieta.org/trails/
