Stop Identity Theft Program

Stop Identity Theft Program - Document On-Site Shredding Event

To help stop identity theft and as a service to our residents, the City of Murrieta City Clerk Department is hosting a FREE Document On-Site Shredding Event. The event will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019 from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. or until the truck is filled to capacity. Residents may bring up to FIVE banker-sized boxes per trip, to the back parking lot of City Hall.

Items that may be included are paper documents such as legal, medical, financial, tax, bank, photos, and credit card statements (no need to remove staples or paper clips). Residents may also bring credit cards and CDs. No businesses please.

Library Offers Summer Programs for Adults

MURRIETA, CA – On Tuesday, July 1, at 6:00 p.m., the Library will hold its monthly Book Club. In keeping with the “Paws to Read!” Summer Reading Program theme, this month’s selection is the New York Times Best Seller, “The Art of Racing in the Rain”, by Garth Stein, a 2008 novel told from a dog’s point of view. There will be an opportunity drawing for a $15 gift certificate and the Club will meet in the Library’s Study Room C.

On Monday, July 7, at 5:00 p.m., professional photographer and instructor, Kevin Toohey, will teach “Digital Camera & Photography Basics”, giving an overview of important features of the digital camera, including focusing and lighting tips, image enhancement, storing to a computer, and more. There will be an opportunity drawing for a $20 gift certificate and this program will be held in the Library’s Community Room.

On Monday, July 14, at 4:00 p.m., certified evaluator Colleen Gimpel of Therapy Dogs International, the oldest and largest Therapy Dog organization in the United States, will reveal how you and your dog can be a great therapy team. Ms. Gimpel’s dog will also be on hand to demonstrate various training principles and this will be the only authorized dog allowed at the program. There will be an opportunity drawing for a pet-themed gift basket worth over $50 and this program will be held in the Library’s Community Room.

These programs are free and open to public and are a part of the “Paws to Read!” Summer Reading Program for adults ages 18 and above and sponsored by the Friends of the Murrieta Library.
