To help stop identity theft and as a service to our residents, the City of Murrieta City Clerk Department is hosting a FREE Document On-Site Shredding Event. The event will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019 from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. or until the truck is filled to capacity. Residents may bring up to FIVE banker-sized boxes per trip, to the back parking lot of City Hall.
Items that may be included are paper documents such as legal, medical, financial, tax, bank, photos, and credit card statements (no need to remove staples or paper clips). Residents may also bring credit cards and CDs. No businesses please.

The Murrieta Chamber of Commerce and the City of Murrieta have forged a partnership to promote the growth of business in Murrieta.
With new leadership at the Murrieta Chamber and a renewed focus on helping the Murrieta business community, the relationship between the two has flourished. In the spirit of this partnership, the chamber and city are hosting a Franchise Business Event with FranNet, a franchise consulting firm, on Jan. 23 and 24.
The city and the chamber recognized that 30,000 to 45,000 residents of the Murrieta Valley region are commuting each day to the greater San Diego area for work. Many of those individuals are tired of the commute and are looking for an opportunity here in their own back yard. Franchises are an opportunity that most overlook. When asked, what is the first business that comes to mind for franchises, 95 percent say McDonald's. The misconception with "franchise" is that the majority is food related, but that is not true.
At the Franchise Business Event there will be numerous franchisors that are flying in from around the country to present on opportunities available right here in this region. Some of the franchisors are Meineke, Money Mailer, Sports Clips, and more.
The Franchise Business Event is free to attend, but registration is required as seating is limited. There will be two opportunities to attend this event. Realizing everyone has different schedules, the city and chamber are hosting two different times to help with busy schedules. The Jan. 23 event will be at 6 p.m. at the new Murrieta Chamber of Commerce office located on 25125 Madison Ave., Suite 108. The Jan. 24 event will be held at 8 a.m.
There will be representatives from the chamber, city, SBA, SBDC and SCORE, as well as financial experts who can show the different ways to help with making this dream come true for attendees.
