Kaiser Permanente is looking ahead at future facility needs to serve members in South Riverside County and is considering a site within the City of Murrieta for a medical office building as part of its long-term vision for responding to the evolving health care needs of the region.
"We are committed to providing high quality, affordable health care services for the Murrieta Valley, while also creating employment opportunities, stimulating economic growth for the area, and leading the way with sustainable building standards and green initiatives," said Vita Willett, executive director of Kaiser Health Plan/Hospitals in Riverside County.
In compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act, the City of Murrieta recently issued a Request for Proposals for preparation of an Environmental Impact Report to study a potential project site within the Murrieta Highlands Specific Plan area. “Kaiser Permanente values our relationship with the City of Murrieta, and we look forward to working through this process together,” Willett said.
“Murrieta is the future of Southern California, with a growing population that needs access to quality education, good jobs, and affordable health care,” said Alan Long, Mayor of the City of Murrieta. “I am excited for the high quality health care that Kaiser Permanente can bring to our residents and welcome the economic growth and job opportunities that come with an investment in facilities in our City.”
Timing for a medical office building and any future phased development will be based on regional demand. Kaiser Permanente serves more than 3.7 million members throughout Southern California, including more than 375,000 members in Riverside County. “The health of our communities is our number one focus,” said Frank Flowers, M.D., Kaiser Permanente area medical director in Riverside County. “We provide a comprehensive range of state-of-the-art health care services in this region, and Kaiser Permanente is committed to true partnership with our communities for the long term.”
