Stop Identity Theft Program

Stop Identity Theft Program - Document On-Site Shredding Event

To help stop identity theft and as a service to our residents, the City of Murrieta City Clerk Department is hosting a FREE Document On-Site Shredding Event. The event will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019 from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. or until the truck is filled to capacity. Residents may bring up to FIVE banker-sized boxes per trip, to the back parking lot of City Hall.

Items that may be included are paper documents such as legal, medical, financial, tax, bank, photos, and credit card statements (no need to remove staples or paper clips). Residents may also bring credit cards and CDs. No businesses please.

New Book Club at the Library

MURRIETA, CA – Join fellow book lovers at the Murrieta Public Library on Tuesday, April 1 at 6 p.m. for the Library’s new Book Club. April's book pick is Gone Girl, a contemporary thriller by Gillian Flynn. Readers will enjoy the story of Amy and Nick Dunne which features the wife’s disappearance and a marriage gone terribly wrong. The Book Club will meet in the Library’s Community Room.
 
Gone Girl has been almost universally praised in numerous publications including but not limited to the New Yorker, New York Times, Time, Publisher's Weekly, Entertainment Weekly, Chatelaine, People magazine, and USA Today. Reviewers express admiration for the novel's suspense, a plot twist involving an unreliable narrator, its psychological dimension, and its examination of a marriage that has become corrosive.
 
This event is free and open to the public. The Book Club will meet the first Tuesday of every month and participants will have a chance to read some good books, meet other people in the community and participate in lively discussions and debates!
