Programs

The City of Murrieta Parks & Recreation Department offers a variety of recreational activities and programs for participants of all ages.  Most of these activities and programs such as our Alternative Recreation Program ("ARP")  take place at our recreation centers and community pool, but some of them take place in our neighborhood, sports, and regional parks.

The following is a list of events you will want to be sure to include in your yearly calendar.

January – Father/Daughter Dance

March – Tour de Murrieta, Starting Line Adams Avenue and Juniper Street

March – Youth Talent Showcase, Community Center

March – Household Hazardous Waste Collection, City Hall back parking lot

March or April – Spring Eggstravaganza, Town Square Park

April – Youth Dodgeball Tournament, Youth Center

April – Fireman’s BBQ,

April Community Center/Fire Station #1 on Juniper Street April –“Stop Identity Theft” Community Shred Event, City Hall back parking lot

May – Youth Art Showcase, Youth Center

May – Salute to Military Moms and Wives, Library Garden of Verses

May – Memorial Day Observance Ceremony, Town Square Park

June – Father’s Day Car Show, California Oaks Sports Park

June – Birthday Bash, California Oaks Sports Park

July – Concerts-in-the-Park series, Town Square Park

August – National Night Out, Town Square Park

August – Movies-in-the-Park, California Oaks Sports Park Summer – Mother/Son event

September 11 – 9/11 Observance Ceremony, Town Square Park

October - Paws 4 Law, Town Square Park

October – Murrieta Rod Run, Downtown Murrieta along Washington Avenue

October – Household Hazardous Waste Collection, City Hall back parking lot

October – Community Clean-up, 2nd Avenue and Kalmia Street

October – Fall Festival, California Oaks Sports Park

November – Murrieta Rotary Field of Honor, Town Square Park

November 11 – Veterans Day Parade, Downtown Murrieta along Washington Avenue and into Town Square Park

November/December – Festival of Trees and Holiday Hometown Parade, Downtown Murrieta along Washington Avenue and into Town Square Park

December – Holiday Magic kicks off:  Santa’s Visits, Letters from Santa, Holiday Home Decorating Contest, and Toy and Food Drive (event information as well as dates and times to follow)
